The wipes “PICK WIPE” (“Pick & Clean”), are classified in the REACH regulation as “article”: for that kind of goods a safety data sheet (SDS) is not expected
the good “PICK WIPE” under the reach regulation is an article defined as “object which during production is given a special shape, surface or design which determines its function to a greater degree than its chemical composition” (art. 3.3). Substances in the wipe and intentionally released from the same, do not meet the criteria for classification above: it isn’t therefore necessary to provide a safety data sheet compiled in accordance with Annex II of the REACH Regulation, as amended by Regulation 453/2010
It is possible, on demand, to supply the SDS of the liquid product used to soak the wipes, underlining anyway that this safety data sheet is referred to the chemical as it is, not to the “PICK WIPE”. A concrete example of the difference between the PICK WIPE and the liquid product can be found in the safety rules on the technical data sheet (TDS): for the liquid product it is necessary to wear an antacid suit, protective mask with respirator, gloves and protective shoes, for the wipes it is sufficient to use anti acid gloves and eye protection, due to the different nature of the good.
